Our daughter contracted Alpha-Gal Syndrome (now allergic to anything that comes from a mammal) and so she practically cannot eat out at all EXCEPT for places like Vegan Food House! She was excited to see all the southern comfort options that used to be able to enjoy in a form that won’t cause her hives or joint pain! The food was delicious and everyone was so sweet!!!! We will be back LOTS!!!

I was a fan of there other restaurant Casa Del Vegano before it closed so I had to visit Vegan Food House (VFH) and they did not disappoint. During my visit last Saturday I had the opportunity to try Rice Cajun Plate with collard greens and Fish fried oyster mushroom and it was really good! The food was flavorful and very well cooked! I highly recommend VFH and will be a returning customer! Note: Go early on the weekends because if can definitely get busy for brunch!

That Cajun Corn was everything. The sauce on the burrito was so good. The Salmon burger was good with delicious home-style fries cooked perfectly and hot temp. Blueberry Lemonade was good. Service was great. They were very welcoming. We were checked on and they cleared our table in a timely manner as we cleared plates. First timer and will be back to try something different.

#vegetarian Visited The Vegan Food House for lunch on a Saturday with my adult daughter. The vibe was chill and the restaurant was clean. You can order by scanning a QR code at the table or go to the counter, which is convenient. I ordered a $20 plate with fried oyster mushrooms, pinto beans, toasted bread, and kale salad. The mushrooms were good, but the beans were very salty with a strange aftertaste. I was also expecting cooked kale, but it was served raw. My daughter had the Vegan Chicken Fried Oyster Mushrooms with gravy ($18). She enjoyed it, but it didn’t come with the biscuit as advertised, and for the price, it felt like it should include a side. There’s a self-serve station with water, to-go containers, and seasonings, which was a nice touch. Parking is street parking—we had to walk about a block both times we visited. I really want to see this Black-owned business succeed, especially since Dallas doesn’t have a lot of vegetarian and vegan restaurant options. To improve the value, I’d suggest making sure menu items match what’s served (like including the biscuit), adding a small side to higher-priced meals (like an $18 entree), and adjusting seasoning (especially th

Went to dinner here for the first time with my daughter yesterday to celebrate my birthday. It was a Monday night around 5ish and we were the only people there when we arrived. I was very apprehensive about all of the options on the menu because my daughter has a tree nut allergy, but they reassured me most of their dishes are nut free. I really liked the decor and there was 90s R&B playing softly in the background which created a nice vibe while we waited for our food. We ordered quite a bit because it was our first time and we wanted to try a few different things. We really enjoyed everything we got for the most part, but were not fans of the eggplant parmigiana...it had a bit of a weird aftertaste so we didn't eat it. My voodoo pasta was also good, but somehow it was the only dish that arrived to the table cold. We decided to box it and take it home so that we could reheat it and eat it later. Overall, there were a ton of options and we enjoyed everything except for the 1 dish. The oyster mushrooms were so good in the tacos that we got a basket of those to go. We'd definitely go back!
